Patents Issued for PaperPro™ Stapler First of Several Patents Issued for Innovative Desktop Stapler With Revolutionary Staple-Gun Style Power NEWTOWN, Pa. — July 19, 2005 — Just 18 months after its PaperPro™ stapler became the most exciting item in the office products industry, Accentra Inc., has announced that it has been issued the first of several critical patents on the stapler’s remarkable staple-gun-style driving mechanism which allows users to staple through up to 20 sheets of paper with the pressure of just one finger. The PaperPro is the only non-electric desktop stapler with one-finger staple driving power. The inspiration for the PaperPro™ stapler came when company founder and CEO, Todd Moses hurled a stapler against the wall after it jammed — ruining a presentation he was preparing for venture capitalists. Out of that frustration came the idea to remake the desktop stapler with mechanical power — much like that of a staple gun — but re-engineered to fit within the housing of a tradition desktop stapler. The result has been arguably the biggest innovation in stapling technology in over 70 years - a stapler so easy and satisfying to use that it threatens to make all standard staplers obselete. The success of this innovative new technology has not escaped the notice of Accentra’s competition — so the protection provided by this patent is critical to Accentra’s long term goal of establishing the PaperPro™ brand as the New Power in Stapling™. "This is a great day for Accentra," said Todd Moses. "Not only has our technology been recognized as something truly new and unique, but more importantly we now have the ability to protect ourselves and our customers against knock-offs and cheap imitations." The now-patented PaperPro™ technology is available in three models: a 15 sheet compact stapler, a 20 sheet desktop stapler, and a 60 sheet high capacity stapler. The staplers can be purchased at a variety of outlets, including office product stores, drug chains, discount stores and major retailers. Meanwhile, Todd Moses and Accentra have plans to introduce more office product innovations in the future. "Like the stapler, we have identified a number of products that have been neglected and that are long overdue for an update," he says. "And we have the desire and expertise to do just that."
